In this video we create a outdoor decorative yard light using aspen logs, and solar lights. This easy DIY yard light can be made of any type of log and can be decorated in any way you choose.
The first step in this project is to cut the logs to a size you desire.
Once the logs are cut to size, bound them together on the bottom and top using twine.
Next, a hole was drilled in the top of each log. On this project a 5 / 16 spade bit was used.

The solar lights were set in place, and the last thing left to do was to decorate the logs. We chose pine garland with pine cones. The garland was stapled to hold it in place.
When we staggered the logs as seen in this video it created one small issue. The top solar light was so bright it caused the bottom two lights not to turn on. This was easily fixed by placing some black electrical tape on the bottom of the top light. This fixed the problem and the outdoor decorative yard light looks and works great. If you choose to build this project, please keep in mind the light issue when staggering your logs.
I hope you enjoyed this video.
